At the December 17th public board meeting, the Board of Education received draft calendars for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 school years. When determining school calendars, the Sooke School District works together with neighboring school districts to support future planning and coordination for families and staff. Consultation with partner groups, including the PVPA, STA, CUPE, and SPEAC, began in May 2024 and concluded on December 6, 2024.
In accordance with School Calendar Regulations, the Board must make proposed calendars publicly available for at least one month before submission to the Ministry of Education and Child Care. This ensures parents, staff, and community partners have the opportunity to provide additional feedback.
