Sooke Harbourside Lions Club offers two bursaries:
The Lion Audrey Wilson Bursary:
Lion Audrey Wilson, wife of past district governor John Wilson, passed away December 16, 2013. Thoughtful, fun active, caring, often “mother hen” to her fellow Sooke Harburside ions, Audrey was an outstanding community servant and a great friend to so many. Audrey served as a Lioness and a Lion in Sooke for nearly 30 years. She and John lived in Sooke their entire lives, where Audrey had served as a kindergarten teacher to many in the community. This bursary is awarded in her memory.
The Pat Moreau Memorial Bursary:
Pat Moreau was the charter secretary for what we used to be called – The Sooke Lioness. She served in many other capacities from Director to President and lived in Sooke most of her life. She and her husband, Leo raised a son and two daughters in Sooke. Volunteering was her passion and she did a lot to serve this community in her short life of 47 years. This bursary is awarded in her memory.
