BC Women In Law Enforcement Scholarship

Six $2100 scholarships will be awarded to young women who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents between the ages of 17-25.  The applicants must be enrolled or have an accepted application to a post-secondary institution and are considering a career in law enforcement.  

Scholarship recipients are presented with the opportunity to participate in a long-term mentorship program with BCWLE members.  This provides the recipients with unique opportunities such as ride alongs, facility tours, and the chance to learn from members first-hand experiences as they pursue a career in law enforcement. 

Applications will include 3 short answer questions (150-250 words each)

1. What role does “community” play in your life?
2. Tell us about an experience that you have had with law enforcement.
3. Why are you passionate about law enforcement?

And an essay answer (1000 words)

After completing the application form (available at link below) please submit the following required documents to scholarships@bcwle.ca

1. Resume
2. Completed short answer and essay questions
3. Proof of enrolment in a full-time academic post secondary program
4. Copy of most recent transcript (unofficial for application; official certified copies required for grant award)
5. Copy of Canadian citizenship or permanent residency documentation
6. Copy of photo identification that includes address
7. Three professional/volunteer references including contact information
